Beginning: "Address service of ecological education"

The project "Regional service of
ecological education" (supported by
ROLL) signified the beginning of the
larger project "International
educational network of video
salons." It was aimed at creating
infrastructure, which would allow to
raise the level of informing the
population of Bryansk region on the
state of environment, as well as to
involve different targeted groups in . |
discussing opportunities and finding ways of solving ecological problems on the
level of a concrete community. The project was begun in 1996 and is being
carried out at present. The important results of its realization became:

setting up a stable network of videotheks of ecological theme at
educational institutions and cultural and educational establishments of
region,
-
organizing activity of stationary and guest lecturing bureaus, aimed at
involving the population in discussing ecological problems and finding the
necessary solutions.
The successful execution of this task - setting up a stable network of
videotheks - engendered the idea of forming International educational network of
video salons. The created regional network consisting of 8 videotheks proved its
effectiveness in educational process; and the development of the project"Regional service of ecological education"
as well as setting up the network of 82
videotheks on the territory of Russia became the logical continuation of the
evolution of this idea.
